I CHANGE

I change into a ferocious beast

To protect my grandchildren from becoming a feast

For scary barking dogs.

I change into a horse that my grandson can ride.

I change into a compassionate listener

For parents whose children have died.

I change into a silly nonsensical guy

To make the love of my life laugh till she cries.

I change out of my anger

To say I'm sorry

When I realize I've been unkind.

I change into my anger

When I see someone being abused.

I change into a dragon

When I need to fly to other worlds.

I change because

I'm human and

I'm divine.
