When did you stop playing
Just for the fun of it?
When did you stop dancing
Just for the thrill of it?
When did you stop singing
Just for the delight of it?
When did you stop being silly
Just for the joy of it?"
Joy is contagious.
And so is anxiety. We radiate whatever energy is most dominant within us. And
we attract more of it.
Joy is necessary for
sustained health.
All too often, we take ourselves far too seriously. We worry
what other people might think. We don’t know what they really think. It is none
of our business what other people think. If I am being the best me I can, I will only
diminish my joy, if I restrict it to accommodate what I perceive someone might
think.
Look at children. They sing, dance, and act silly, not only at home;
they do it in the market, at school, in the neighborhood, and just about
everywhere. They haven't learned to "fear of perception." And that
fear makes us dim out own inner joy, inner light, and ability to shine.
Most people find it
easier to play with a pet than with others, or even themselves.
I encourage you to
play, to be silly, and to dance.
Be passionate about something
that makes you feel good inside. It doesn't have to be anything big. It can be
simple.
Have a wonderful day
and take time out to play and be silly.
